This is great Cor! A nice summary. It helps to understand where people come from. Is this how they grew up? Sometimes we have to meet people where they are at but also be grounded in biblical truth.

Yes, indeed, great stuff Cor. I encourage those who’ve read this far to welcome discussion with those who come to your door. There are just too few times in life when you can engage directly with a person on the wonderful news of the Cross. I’ve spent a few nights sitting around my kitchen table with door-to-door evangelists. When they break from script, they’ll tell you how poorly they’ve been treated by those who call themselves Christians. Take the opportunity to show what the Apostle John meant when he wrote, “They will know we are Christians by our love.” Our love for them, our love for the truth of the Gospel, our love for revealing this great and wonderful truth to listening ears.

That is so true. Good thought.

Very interesting, as someone who has studied the LDS church in depth I highly recommend others to study a different religion than your own. It will open your mind and hopefully strengthen your own faith.

Thanks for the great information Cor! It is important when engaging these people to remember how much God loves them and how they were created in His image. It can be easy to get into debates and be more focused on winning your argument rather then actually sharing why you have hope in Jesus Christ. Personal testimonies, forming relationships, sacrificial love, prayer, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and clear gospel proclamations can go a long way with any person, with any worldview.

Hey Cor! This is excellent. I have a student right now who is a JW, and this helped me with understanding her. She is a really smart girl who could be the first one to go to college in her family, but instead, the JWs have convinced her to stop her education and go door to door with them… which in my opinion is pretty sad. Anyway, this was helpful. These shortcut things are pretty handy.
